Without even having surveyed for the presence/absence of threatened species within this area of forest, VicForests are currently clerfell logging within coupe 348-510-0008 in the Tippy Gully Catchment of the Ada River in the Ada Forest despite the presence of the threatened Sooty Owl roosting or nesting in close proximity; despite the Leadbeater’s Possum recorded along the access track to the coupe (which has been cut through the “Special Protection Zone” for the Leadbeater’s Possum); despite the numerous large dead hollow bearing trees (stags) that have been documented within this coupe including some about to be bulldozed bearing characteristic “key-hole” fissures such as are excavated by the Leadbeater’s Possum for their nesting trees; and despite the logging of more Cool Temperate Rainforest buffers.
